Roberto Gallego-Pinazo, MD, PhD, is currently based at the Unit of Macula of Oftalvist Clinic of Valencia and Madrid (Spain) as medical retina physician and multimodal imaging expert. He was awarded as the best in class resident doctors in 2008 in Hospital La Fe of Valencia. Roberto completed the Diploma of Superior Specialist in Ophthalmology by the ESASO in 2010 in Lugano. He also undertook a fellowship during 2012 in New York at Manhattan Eye Ear Throat Hospital and Vitreous Retina Macula Consultants New York with Dr Lawrence A. Yannuzzi and K. Bailey Freund. He is actively involved in clinical research having played the role of principal investigator in over 30 clinical trials. He was proposed for the 2014 Leadership Development Program of the Panamerican Association of Ophthalmology and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has authored over 185 indexed scientific papers. He is member of the Panamerican Association of Ophthalmology (PAAO), Panamerican Collaborative Retina Study Group (PACORES) and co-founder of the Club Español de la Mácula.
