RENE ALFREDO CANO HIDALGO MD

Born in Mexico City, he completed his medical education at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. The residency in Ophthalmology and the fellow in retina at the National Medical Center IMSS

His professional career was as a licensed physician and head of teaching in ophthalmology at the National Medical Center, later he served as Head of Education, Deputy Medical Director and Chairman in the Instituto de Oftalmologia Fundación Conde de Valenciana and is currently a physician of the staff in the retina service.

He is Professor of Ophthalmology at the medicine school and at the Postgraduate course of Ophthalmology at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico

He has been President of the Mexican Association of Retina, President of the Mexican Society of Ophthalmology and President of the Mexican Board of Ophthalmology, currently he is the General Secretary of the Mexican Society of Ophthalmology.

Distinctions: Medal to the University merit, Honorific award in the internship by the General Hospital of Mexico, International Ophthalmologist Education Award by the American Academy of Ophthalmology. First place in the XV Biennial prize of ophthalmology 2018 by the Mexican Society of Ophthalmology.
